Important: This is a practical policy draft for Expansively. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before broad public launch.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Expansively website, web application, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

We may collect your name, username, email address, password in hashed form, profile photo, biography, preferences, and account settings.

Content and communications

We collect content you submit through the Service, which may include posts, comments, replies, photos, videos, messages, reports, support requests, and other materials.

Events, services, and scheduling information

When you create or respond to an event or service, we may collect titles, descriptions, dates, times, availability, RSVP status, attendance information, pricing information, locations you enter, and related communications.

Location and time information

We may collect a location you voluntarily provide, an approximate area inferred from information such as a ZIP code, and your timezone so that schedules and nearby results work correctly. Device-level precise location is collected only when the feature requires it and permission is granted.

Technical and usage information

We may receive device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, app version, diagnostic information, timestamps, authentication tokens, and information about how features are used.

Safety and moderation information

We collect reports, blocks, moderation decisions, content snapshots, warnings, suspensions, bans, and related records needed to protect users and enforce our rules.

Information from third-party sign-in

When you choose a supported third-party sign-in method, we may receive account identifiers and basic profile information permitted by that provider and your settings.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, operate, personalize, and improve the Service.
  • Create and secure accounts and authenticate users.
  • Display user profiles and user-generated content according to your settings.
  • Support discovery, search, scheduling, events, services, invitations, RSVPs, and communications.
  • Process support requests and send service-related messages.
  • Detect fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our rules.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Expansively, our users, and others.

4. How information is shared

With other users

Profile information, posts, comments, services, events, and other content may be visible to other users based on the feature and your privacy settings. Messages intended to be private are shared with their intended participants.

With service providers

We may use vendors for hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, authentication, security, diagnostics, and customer support. They may process information only to provide services to us and must protect it consistently with their obligations.

For safety, legal, and business reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate abuse, enforce agreements, or complete a business reorganization or transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide legally required choices.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.

You can initiate account deletion from Account Settings in the Expansively app. Deletion is designed to remove or anonymize the account and associated personal content, except for limited information we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, safety, or accounting purposes. Backups may take additional time to expire through normal rotation.

See our Account Deletion page for instructions.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Update account and profile information in the app.
  • Control supported privacy, notification, and device permission settings.
  • Block users and report content or accounts.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
  • Delete your account from Account Settings.

Additional rights may apply depending on where you live. Visit Privacy Choices or contact privacy@getexpansively.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. Where local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. If we learn that a child provided personal information in violation of this section, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

9. International use

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. We use appropriate measures where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.

11. Contact

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@getexpansively.com. General support is available at support@getexpansively.com.
